A Team of Dedicated Professionals for Over 40 Years.
Barry grew up in Edmonton Alberta and started his career with a finance company, then quickly moved into the insurance world by joining the London Life Insurance Company. After two successful years in Edmonton, he was recruited by his brother David to join him in Victoria B.C to set up their own independent insurance brokerage office and thus started “The Wright Brothers” Financial Services. During these early years Barry enrolled in the courses required to become a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (Ch.F.C.). He has also achieved a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
When Barry isn’t in the office with clients, he can be found attempting to lower his high handicap on a golf course during the summer or flying down a ski hill in the winter. Barry and his wife Afton also like to spend a great deal of time with their Lagotto Romagnolo or “truffle dog” Katie by going on long walks or hikes, which often lead them to the ocean and lakes as she is truly an Italian water dog.
Maureen began her career in the investment industry in 1983 and joined RPS Retirement Planning Services (a division of Wright Brothers Financial Services) in 1985. Maureen has always had an affinity for helping Seniors and therefore specializes in Retirement and Estate Planning which includes Retirement Income Options, Wealth Accumulation, RRSP’s, RRIF’s, TFSA’s, GIC’s, Segregated Funds and Annuities.
Maureen has completed her Chartered Financial Planning designation with Investia Financial Services Inc, Elder Planning designation and is an Investment Funds Advisor as well as a Level II Insurance Advisor.
Maureen and her husband Jim have two daughters and 3 dogs so when she’s not at work she’s walking dogs, beachcombing, reading or travelling.
The Wright Brothers Story
The Wright Brothers story began in the late 1970’s in Victoria BC when David Wright and his brother Barry Wright joined forces to establish one of the first truly independent life insurance and financial services brokerage offices on Vancouver Island. Originally located at the corner of Fort and Vancouver Street– the Wright Brothers now calls its office at 755 Queens Avenue home. With David Wright now retired the practice is managed by Barry and his team of dedicated advisors and assistants. While there have been numerous changes over the 40 plus years in business - your team at the Wright Brothers biggest commitment remains providing you and your family with the highest quality of service. Our focus now is helping clients with their retirement, financial and estate planning needs and to manage their investments in the most tax efficient way possible in order to preserve their hard-earned wealth for them and their heirs.
The Wright Brothers Financial Services office is located in Downtown Victoria, BC.
Free street parking is available to clients and visitors. There is a small set of stairs leading to the office; however, alternative meeting arrangements can be made for those with accessibility concerns.
